  • The first tourism congress of regions of the North of Russia took place in the Republic of Komi

    The first tourism congress of regions of the North of Russia took place in the Republic of Komi on 11-23 March 2021. Experts from 20 regions of the country got together in the capital of the Republic of Komi in order to discuss the future development of the tourism sector of North of Russia, and find creative and productive solutions. President of ICWAG Leonid Gelibterman participated in the work of congress. In particular, he performed as a speaker during a panel session «Territorial Marketing. How to «sell» your region». He also created the thematic workshop «Tastes of the North: Gastronomy as a driver of tourism development». During his trip to the Republic of Komi, President of ICWAG also visited several local food industry manufacturers and attended a meeting of the Republic’s restaurateurs. Collaborative events on developing the region in Russia and abroad were set with the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Archives of the Republic of Komi.

  • Presentation of results of the international project «Kalitka - the development of cross-border gast

    On 26th of February 2021 the Presentation of results of the international project «Kalitka - the development of cross-border gastronomic tourism» took place in the café «Buloshnaya» for journalists and tour operators. The president of ICWAG Leonid Gelibterman moderated the event. Demyan Smilevets the Head of International Cooperation Department (Russian Federal Agency for Tourism) greeted participants of a presentation. The results of a 3-years-old work were presented by the manager of a project Anastasia Vasilyeva (Republic of Karelia, Petrozavodsk). The project was realized from 2018 to February 2021 as a part of a program of cross-border cooperation «Karelia» with financial support of European Union, Finland and Russia. The project unified Karelian cuisine from both the Republic of Karelia and Finland in one gastronomic route. During Moscow's event original dishes of Karelian cuisine like Kalitki (with potato, wheat, berry and cottage cheese flavors), willow-herb and Karelian Balzam. The presentation was highly rated by participants and got wide attention in social media.

    On 25th of February 2021 the president of ICWAG Leonid Gelibterman took part (online) in the Business Forum «Far East – the winter of discoveries» as a speaker. During Roundtable «Gastronomic tourism of Kamchatka» the president of ICWAG gave a presentation «World gastro-diplomacy»

  • International conference "Theoretical and practical aspects of development gastrotourism"

    On 25th of February 2021 the president of ICWAG Leonid Gelibterman gave a presentation «Gastronomic Tourism in the world and Russian Federation» in online format as part of an International scientific-practical conference «Theoretical and practical aspects of development gastronomic tourism». International center of wine and gastronomy (ICWAG) was one of the partners in organizing the conference. During the presentations speakers from Russia and Finland discussed the results of the international project «KALITKA» (CBC KA4007). The project was focused on development of the cross-border gastronomic tourism and socio-economic support of adjacent territories by unifying businesses from both borders based on the culture of the Karelian National Cuisine. The project was supported by a program of the cross-border cooperation «Karelia» and the project is also financed by European Union, Finland and Russia.

  • The first meeting of Moscow (National) Branch of the International Wine & Food Society in 2021

    On 12th of February 2021 the first meeting of Moscow (National) Branch of the International Wine & Food Society (IWFS) in 2021 took place at the restaurant house «Buloshnaya». The meeting was dedicated the occasion of the 130-th of establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Mexico. The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the United Mexican States to Russian Federation Her Excellency Norma Pensado performed by a video Greetings to numerous guests of the meeting. The menu of the dinner was created by Roman Aguas and brand-chef of restaurant «Buloshnaya» Sergey Erofeev. Mexican home cooking, tequila, Latin American wines, colourful videos and interesting people to talk to – what else do we need for an entire happiness during a snowy February at Moscow?

  • The festival of Gastronomic tourism took place in Kaluga city

    On 18-20th of December 2020 the festival of Gastronomic tourism took place in Kaluga city. The project was organized by the Russian Federal Agency for Tourism with support of the Government of Kaluga region. During three days representatives from 15 regions of Russia were discussing perspectives and opportunities of developing gastronomic tourism in Russia. President of ICWAG Leonid Gelibterman participated in the project as a key expert in this industry. He performed with a presentation on a theme «Gastrodiplomacy» at a formal part of the festival, and he also gave a culinary master-class with the President of Russian Culinary Association V. B. Belyaev.

  • Letter of appreciation from the Chairman of IWFS Europe and Africa

    On 17th of March the Chairman of Moscow (National) Branch of IWFS Leonid Gelibterman received a letter of appreciation from the Chairman of IWFS Europe and Africa, John Nicolas. In his message, Mr. Nicholas said «You may recall that I announced a small prize for the most enterprising and interesting virtual event organized during lockdowns. There were numerous entries and many branches have been conducting virtual events during the various lockdowns, though not always submitting an article for Food & Wine/F&W online.. Shortly the next edition of Food & Wine will be despatched. You will discover that The Moscow branch has been selected as the winner to recognize that it was one of the first virtual meetings, showed the way that virtual events could be open to those who were not actually present and was well written up with great photographs.
