  • Russia for the first time became a partner of the International Exhibition Anuga-2021

    From 9 till 13 of October, in Cologne (Germany), the Russian national exposition was presented at the International Exhibition of Prepared Food and Beverages Anuga-2021. In 2021, Russia for the first time became a partner country of Anuga, one of the most significant events in the food industry. More than 30 Russian companies will present their products in thematic industry pavilions on a total area of ​​about 830 sq. m. The opening ceremony of the Russian exposition took place at the national stand in Pavilion 2.1 Fine Foods dedicated to delicacies and groceries. Welcoming remarks were made by the head of the official Russian delegation - Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Maxim Uvaydov.     The president of the ICWAG took part in the strategic session of the Far East Development Corporation to discuss common approaches to management and regional management practices of the subjects of the Far Eastern Federal District and the Arctic Zones of the Russian Federation in the field of tourism development. The strategic session was attended by the heads of the Far East Development Corporation and the heads of tourist administrations of the regions. L. Gelibterman made a report on the importance of the gastronomic component in tourism in articulation of comprehensive targeted programs for the territory development.

  • Portuguese Wine autumn in Russia

    On September 30, a wine salon of the Vinho Verde region, Portugal, was held at the Baltschug Kempinski Hotel, Moscow. The Vinho Verde region is the oldest and largest wine-growing region in the north of Portugal. Due to the proximity of the Atlantic, the climate here is humid, cool, with an abundance of rain. This, in many ways, determines the style of local wines. Modern wines of the Vinho Verde region can be divided into two main types. Light, with good acidity, with a pronounced fruity aroma and low alcohol content. It is customary to drink them young, within a year after bottling. The second type is complex, well-structured wines with excellent aging potential. 15 Portuguese producers took part in the salon of wines of the Vinho Verde region, most of whom, despite all the difficulties, flew to Moscow from Portugal. Portuguese winemakers met with leading Russian importers, representatives of retail chains, restaurateurs, sommeliers, cavists and journalists. Within the framework of the event, there was also held a master class, which was conducted by Vladislav Markin, the Ambassador of the Vinho Verde region in Russia. The best sommelier of Russia of 2013 presented the features of the wines of the Vinho Verde region, and the participants of the master class tasted sparkling, white, rose and red wines of the region. The International Center of Wine and Gastronomy under the leadership of L. Gelibterman was the organizer of the event from the Russian side. At the end of October 2021, Moscow will host an unprecedented number of participants (more than 40 wineries) Portuguese wine salon under the auspices of ViniPortugal. I learned some interesting things about wine tastings, and I would like to participate in such events again. Dokuchaev Ivan: On Thursday, September 30, 2021, as part of the "Gastrodiplomacy" course, I attended an international winemaking master class as an organizer. I had the opportunity to observe with my own eyes the meeting and communication of masters of their craft - from sommeliers and media experts, to importers and heads of foreign wineries. I was directly involved in the table setting process and had an unforgettable experience as a conference room concierge. I believe that participation in international gastronomic projects is a great opportunity to get close to representatives of other cultures and make new business contacts; I look forward to the next events!

  • International project "Gastronomy Routes of the Great Silk Road" in the Republic of Buryatia

    The president of the ICWAG visited the Republic of Buryatia within the framework of the international project " Gastronomy Routes of the Great Silk Road". A group of experts from Moscow, led by L. Gelibterman, evaluated the work of three restaurants in Ulan-Ude (Tengis, Talaa and Orda) on the modern adaptation of recipes from the medieval "Book of the Great Khan". Also, the president of the ICWAG made a report "Gastrodiplomacy" at the All-Russian Meeting on Rural Tourism, held work meetings with the Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Buryatia, with the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Trans-Baikal Territory and the Farmers' Association "Siberia".

    On September 10-17, at the invitation of the president of the ICWAG L.Gelibterman, Jose Antonio Vidal, president of the Global Wine Tourism Organization (GWTO), was in Russia on a business visit. The president of the ICWAG, as the regional director of the GWTO (Eastern Europe, Western and Central Asia), introduced Mr. Vidal to the leadership of the Perm region, and also organized his meetings with officials of the Russian Federal Agency for Tourism, rectors of universities in Perm and Moscow, as well as with representatives of the Russian tourism business.

    On September 9, the President of the ICWAG took part in a TASS press conference dedicated to the development of gastronomy tourism in the regions of Russia. The press conference was initiated by the Ambassador of the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), President of the All-Russian Society for Nature Conservation V. Fetisov. In addition to Mr. Fetisov, the president of the Russian Union of Travel Industry A. Ignatiev, the Vice-governor of the Moscow Region N. Virtuozova and the Governor of the Kaluga Region V.     On September 7-8, at the invitation of the Government of Tyumen Region and the heads of TUI-Russia, ICWAG president L. Gelibterman took part in the celebrations dedicated to the launch of the first TUI-Russia charter on the Moscow-Tyumen route. During the trip, the president of the ICWAG took part in the opening ceremony of the Moscow information center in Tyumen, discussed a topic of gastronomy tourism in Tyumen region with a group of Russian travel agents, and held negotiations with the vice-governor on the prospects for cooperation between the ICWAG and Tyumen region.

  • Project Gastrocamp - Kaluga 2021

    Project Gastrocamp - Kaluga 2021, famous Russian chefs created "Menu of Kaluga" based on local products of Kaluga. The regional gastronomy camp «Gastrocamp-Kaluga 2021» was held on territory of the Hotel «Ambassador Kaluga» from 21th to 27th of August. International Center of Wine and Gastronomy (ICWAG) is the developer of the project, the president of ICWAG was leading the work. Chefs, pastry chef and baristas from Moscow, Saint-Petersburg and Kaluga were invited to work on Gastrocamp. The main goal of the team was studying traditions and gastronomy specialists of the Kaluga Oblast and after visiting farm enterprises and factories, members of team needed to create special «Menu of Kaluga», recipes, which could be recommended for usage at catering establishments of Kaluga in the future. The Business Development Agency (Kaluga) was the partner of the project from the side of Kaluga region. The final tasting was organized on 26th of August on the territory of the hotel. The Governor of the Kaluga Oblast Vladislav Shapsha, Deputy Governor Chief of Administration of the Governor Karina Bashkatova, Head of Kaluga City Dmitry Denisov, Minister of Internal Policy and Mass Communication Oleg Kalugin, Deputy Chief, Office of Protocol Management, Governor’s Administration Olga Filippova, Stefan Perevalov, General Director of the "Business Development Agency'', General Director of the Hotel «Ambassador Kaluga» Irina Melnikova, hostellers, restaurateurs, farmers and journalists. Chefs-participants of the Gastrocamp were truly inspired by the quality of local dairy products, berries, rainbow trout, guinea fowl, champignons, potatoes... 27 authorial dishes and beverages were served on the final "table" of the tasting. Team of the Gastrocamp and Hotel «Ambassador Kaluga» showed great results of the work, though, it should be noted that the missions were quite complicated. Can you imagine preparing and serving 22 dishes and 5 beverages individually (648 servings) in only 2,5 hours!The Team of the Gastrocamp not only prepared and served dishes tasty and beautifully, but also named dishes and beverages in order to save an inextricable link between sites of their origin, names of cities and districts. So, this is how «Three forms of beetroot with goat cheese from Medyn», «Consomme from Kalugian guinea fowl with crepes and marinated eggs», «Oksk's jackfish with honey pumpkin mash, Medynsk butter and lemongrass», «Kalugian quartet. Two kinds of Kalugian pastila (apple and raspberry), two kinds oа cheese (Bogimovo and Medyn)», «Ice cream Bogimovo's milk with sauce from farm sea buckthorn berries with tutsan's flower»... On the development of dishes for «Menu of Kaluga» were working: Anton Salnikov (chef, Moscow) with 20 years of service. He interned in Michelin restaurants in France. He's a member of the international project "Russian Gastronomy Weeks". As well as founder and brand-chef of the corpotavive catering network «Technology of catering»; Rashid Rakhmanov (chef, Saint-Petersburg) with 19 years length of service. He's a member of the international project «Russian Gastronomy Weeks». He is also an Ambassador of the Perm Region cuisine; Ambassador the cuisine of Peru in Russia and Western Europe, owner of the award «Golden Peruvian Spoon-2018»); Pozdnyakov Michail (chef «Territory of Hospitality», Kaluga) with over than 12 years length of service. He's an Silver Medalist of the Championship of Russia on the barbeque 2021, Participant of the culinary association «Chefs team Russia", member of the «Russian association of the barbeque», ex-chef of the Kiev Pechersk Lavra; Pavel Bozhko (sous-chef of the restaurant «Ambassador» of the Hotel «Ambassador-Kaluga», Kaluga). Participant of the competition «The best specialist in Kaluga», he presented a dish from proud flesh. Kalugian restaurant of the hotel «Hilton» won the award «Restaurant of the year» under his leadership. Elena Baklashova (chef-confectioner, Moscow) with 27 years of service. She's a member of the team of chefs from Moscow on the «Green Week» in Berlin(Germany). She's awarded with the Diploma of Moscow Mayor S. Sobyanin «For Contribution to Industry Development»; Elizaveta Baryshnikova (barista-coach, Moscow) with more than 10 years length of service. She's a member of the Specialty Coffee Association. She's an owner of qualifications: Sensory Intermediate; Brewing intermediate; Barista skills intermediate and Alexandra Kowalski (bar-manager, Moscow) Project of the International center of wine and gastronomy «Gastrocamp Kaluga - 2021» was invented to help developing gastronomy tourism and the hospitality sphere in Kaluga Oblast, to give some kind of additional impetus to movement of the individual farmers of the region. First results of the Gastrocamp, following the event: Hotel «Ambassador Kaluga» received two orders from Government of the Kaluga Oblast: Medyn-pie with goat cheese, beetroot plant and sour cream sauce by sous-chef P.Bozhko (Kaluga).   • Evening of Peruvian cuisine took place in the hotel "Ambassador Kaluga"

    The evening of Peruvian cuisine initiated by ICWAG took place in hotel "Ambassador Kaluga'' on 23th of July with support of the Embassy of Peru in Russia. Ambassador of Peruvian cuisine in Western Europe and CIS countries, chef Rashid Rakhmanov prepared author's menu, contaning 6 original dishes. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of theRepublic of Peru to the Russian Federation H.E. Juan Genaro Del Campo Rodríguez honoured the event with his presence. Government of the Kaluga Oblast greeted honorary guest and described cooperation between Kaluga Oblast and Republic of Peru. «Resfood» company and ES'ORO brand supported dinner with true Peruvian products, specialists from the ICWAG and «ISSI Group» selected wines for the event. Pisco Sour Cocktail on the base of Peruvian pisco, Peruvian music, colorful costumes, exhibition of embroidery, light show - that's all the highly-quality work of the hotel "Ambassador ''s team. They made the atmosphere of a real party. Guests of the dinner were very grateful and presented chef Rashid Rakhmanov, cooks from Kaluga, bartenders, waiters, organizers with standing ovations. H.E. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Peru to the Russian Federation expressed his appreciation to Kaluga for its hospitality and wished Peru and Russia to continue to be friends and to learn each other's culture.
